Cape Town Extension

Day 1: Arrive in Cape Town

Upon arrival in Cape Town you are met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 2: Cape Town Sightseeing - Table Mountain, Robben Island

Today we visit Robben Island (home to Nelson Mandela for many years), a World Heritage Site and symbol of freedom and perseverance of the human spirit. We will also ascend the famous Table Mountain by cable car. The mountain is home to many species of animals and birds and is considered the smallest, yet richest, floral kingdom in the world. From the top we have spectacular views in every direction including the city, Robben Island, the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, mountain ranges, ravines and the inland plains.

Please note: Cable car is weather permitting and does not operate if there are high winds.

After descending, a city tour takes in the Castle of Good Hope and Slave Lodge Museum.

Day 3: Stellenbosch Wine Region

We have a full day tour to the beautiful region of Stellenbosch, a premier wine producing area east of the city. Visit a wine cellar and do some wine tasting at the Bergkelder. Before leaving the area, visit Del Air Wine Estate. We will have the opportunity to taste several wines and enjoy a cellar tour before returning back to Cape town.

Day 4: Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope

On this full Cape Peninsula journey follow the Atlantic Coast as it winds it way between Noordhoek and Hout Bay. The drive is rated one of the most spectacular marine drives in the world.
Visit Cape Point, where the Indian Ocean meets the Atlantic Ocean. A funicular takes you up to the lighthouse. Take a short cliff top hike from Cape Point to the Cape of Good Hope - the southwesternmost tip of the African continent. On the return, visit a rare colony of African penguins at Boulders Beach in False Bay. We will also visit Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden which is acclaimed as one of the great botanic gardens of the world. The road back to the city takes you through the southern suburbs of Cape Town.

Day 5: Depart Cape Town

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight today.
